Sure governments will eventually find a way to overspend and destroy any gold standard that is created, but having a gold standard with gold and silver coins in circulation gives people a fighting chance to survive the government BS. On the flip side, take all the gold and silver out of the system and "de-educate" the people and the people don't have a hope in hell when government abuses the money system.
