An "Application Server" is just a file server on which you can run other computer programs alongside the file server program. Not a big deal, except perhaps in the trade press. So you buy another inexpensive PC to run the other computer programs and let your NetWare server do its job unhindered...dedicated. People shouldn't have a problem with that.
