I've heard even higher numbers for the sale price of the Volt, and that's the problem with what is essentially a plug in Civic, where the Civic is 17k... It's just not gonna fly anytime soon without massive subsidies, especially if gas stays at 4/gallon or below and you can get over 30mpg with the Honda.

PS - As for Tesla, they started with what is essentially a Lotus and threw their electric drivetrain into it for 110K. They are having trouble getting financing now, and are being kept afloat thru Elon Musk's millions. Their days are numbered IMO unless someone thinks their tech is worth buying...
