it would be more accurate to say the 1950s showed that wealth re distribution has a good side in that the middle class had a much larger slice of the countries wealth...that is wage hikes, job security and pension benefits negotiated by the unions ....which took money out of the riches pockets and put it directly in the pockets of workers .

while the gov maintained a balanced budget and strong dollar through high taxes.
