The election is over, and things did not go well for us. That said, they could have gone a lot worse. It appears as of this moment that Norm Coleman eked out the narrowest of victories over the execrable Al Franken, and Saxby Chambliss is in a good position in a probable runoff. Rest assured, however, that the Democrats will do everything in their power to reach the magical number of 60 seats in the Senate.* And if you think the MN race is over just because all the votes have been counted and Norm Coleman ended up with more, then you must not have been around for the 2004 Washington State Gubernatorial Election. Currently, Coleman leads Franken by right around 200 votes, and the Democrats have to feel at this point like they can find at least that many votes stashed "forgotten" in the trunk of some election worker's car.

If you have time over the next few weeks, the Coleman campaign needs boots on the ground in Minnesota. Contact the campaign, and if you don't get a response through the website, let us know and we'll put you in touch with the right people. If you can't go to Minnesota, donate to the effort so that we can ensure that Coleman does not get ACLU'ed to death.

The first step in fighting back against the radical agenda Barack Obama wants to implement in this country is making sure the GOP has the numbers in the Senate to effectively fight back when it's needed the most. Norm Coleman won his seat in a bitter and close election; help him keep it.
