Universal Medical Receives Order For New CT Simulator
CLEARWATER, Fla., Sept. 22 /PRNewswire/ -- Universal Medical Systems, Inc. (OTC Bulletin Board: UMSI), announced it has received an order for its CT Simulator from The North Middlesex Cancer Center, located in London, England. The purchase price for this system is in excess of $700,000. The CT Simulator is a Cat Scan system with proprietary software to provide the physician with the necessary tools to effectively plan the radiation therapy procedure. Also, UMSI has been notified that the North Middlesex Hospital has decided to purchase a similar system shortly.
In making this announcement, Mike Kindamo, Vice President of Marketing for UMSI, stated that this is a most significant order, in that this will be the initial installation in Europe for the new UMSI CT Simulator. This system has many important features, including the largest aperture available, fast reconstruction of images, and facilitates effective 3D planning for radiation therapy.
Kindamo also stated that there is in excess of $10.0 million in outstanding proposals for the CT Simulator and related products. Plans are to complete the installation of its new CT Simulator for both customer demonstrations and training at UMSI's Clearwater facility.
