I believe that laws that are unconstitutional must be gotten rid of.

But calling these laws unconstitutional is a bit of a stretch.

If society decides it wants to go in this direction, it should do so through legislation, not by trying to change the meaning of the constitution. Clearly legislation changing what is defined as and recognized as and given benefits as a marriage wouldn't be unconstitutional (at least according to the federal constitution)
