I'm trying to keep that in the law. If its to be changed, it s/b done legislatively, not imposed by fiat.

I went back and looked at the post you replied to and couldn't find a mention of pedophilia in it. So I have no idea what you're getting at.

You can go around and tell everyone who will stand to listen to you that you believe gay marriage or gay civil unions or whatever is wrong in your religion. If people want to ignore you, let them. Let them be judged by God and not by you. That is the christian thing to do.

The LEGAL CONTRACT aspects of 'marriage' are not irrelevant. They affect people quite acutely and family has access and the ability to make decisions in hospitals where acquaintances and work colleagues are not. Why don't you know this?

I do. But previously you spoke of something else ... visiting people in the hospital. And that isn't limited to spouses.

As to making medical decisions for a loved one, there are ways people can give that to another without being married.

I'm not. If I hated gay people, I wouldn't have offered to chip in money for a gay relatives health care.
