If it is unconstitutional,

The key word is if. My earlier observation stands.

You don't believe in equal protection and you don't believe in civil rights.

Sure I do. Just don't think it applies to gay marriage.

That's quite sad and very un-american.

And if a conservative uses the phrase "real Americans" its an ugly thing, but when you do similar ....

No, children are stupid and foolish and the law recognizes that which is why they can't sign contracts. They shouldn't be allowed to marry either as marriage is a contract.

Of course they are immature and unable to contract. Their immaturity is one reason they shouldn't be exposed to gay activists in schools. I don't know why you persist in calling children stupid and foolish though.

The idea that Christians, regardless of how stupidly some of them think and act, are being persecuted in the US of A is so absurd it makes me want to call the people in the white coats for you.

Well, when:

a Christian doctor is told by a state supreme court she MUST provide fertilization services to unmarried women, even though she referred the unmarried woman to another doctor who provided the service,

a Christian photographer is fined by a state human rights commission for declining to photograph a gay wedding,

a major church is told it must arrange gay adoptions or stop providing adoption services at all,

a church loses tax exemption on its property for refusing to allow a gay wedding on church owned retreat,

then I can foresee the loss of our religious liberties and our freedom of conscience.

Since these things have occurred in four states, I can logically foresee a lot more of the same if gay marriage spreads. And I'm not even getting into the introduction of inappropriate gay educational material put into schools to educate kids into thinking politically correct.

Hospitals often restrict visitation to family members depending on the circumstances.

News to me. A patient could have anyone visit them they wish, I think.

Medical decisions are most certainly restricted to family members and particularly spouses.

Health care power of attorneys are common and plenty of people rely on them. Not everyone has a spouse or a close relative.

Yep, try carrying around your POA when you are dragged unconscious from a car accident.

In a situation like that, one's spouse or closest relative (assuming someone has them) may not be readily available either or may be incapacitated themselves. Doesn't mean anyone will be denied emergency medical care.

It IS hate when you do not accept people for what they are. It IS hate when you strive to prevent other people from having the same rights as you enjoy. It IS hate when you seek to hurt other people and call it religion.

Denying gay marriage is not hateful, doesn't deny any one rights, and isn't hurtful. Failing to give everyone in the world whatever it is they decide they want isn't any of those things either.

Lets use the analogy of Muslims and polygamy. The Muslim religon allows polygamy. Not allowing polygamy in our country is not hateful toward Muslims, doesn't deny them equal rights, and is not hurtful to them.

Christianity has been used as an excuse for all sorts of horrendous behavior. Today is no exception. Lest you think otherwise, other religions are used in the same way.

Everything has been used an excuse for horrendous behavior. Science - the Nazis believed their racial ideas were blessed by science. Environmental concern - tens of millions of African babies have died of malaria because of the DDT ban, for example. Equality - look what communists have done striving for that.

The problem of evil is inherent in human nature.
