The negotiations in Germany seems to have ended in agreement.

The German government expects recession in 2009, but improvement late 2009. They also expect some increases in unemployed meanwhile. The biggest hit in Germany has been retirement funds - they still talk about Lehmann derivatives, which seem to have had a big market in Germany.

Oh - and based on the television interviews with editors of youth magazines etc., I'd say that Obama wouldn't collect an audience of 200,000 if he went to Berlin today. I think his audience would be at least 500,000. He has become the world symbol that represents the fact, that skin color does not decide a human's capabilities.
