Yes, daily social contacts are the most effective.

One of today's headlines states Palin has said she's comfortable with Obama as CIC. My initial thought: do we really have any choice? She did add the caveat that her comfort level depends on his choice of advisers:

Palin conditionally comfortable with Obama on Iraq

Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin has given President-elect Barack Obama a conditional vote of confidence on handling the war in Iraq.

Palin, who has been granting a series of interviews this week, said she would feel comfortable with the Illinois Democrat as commander in chief so long as he surrounds himself with advisers who understand threats against the United States.

In an interview broadcast Wednesday on NBC's "Today" show, Palin was asked whether she felt secure with the notion of Obama being in charge of national security.

She replied: "I'm comfortable with Barack Obama as our commander in chief, assuming that he has those around him who recognize .... that terrorists have not changed their minds ... Those who recognize what the threat is and how to deal with the threat."

Palin's oldest son, Track, is serving in Iraq.
