SS was designed as a system where the current working generation pays for the previous generation. The people that created it knew that demographic problems could arise in the future and planned for them, including expecting adjustments to be made by future generations.


They most certainly DID NOT plan for them. Had they done so, we wouldn't be looking at trillions of dollars in unfunded liabilities. Liabilities which can never, ever be met. The program is broke.
