Paul Revere Community Alert Campaign on the Y2k Threat to Core Infrastructures

Dynamite site. Y2K Awareness Campaign for Minnesota in late Sept & Oct 1997. Lot of thought and effort went into this. Can be easily adapted for other communities and states.

EXCERPT

"Many, including some leading computer scientists, believe that this problem will impact mankind as bad as the 1929-1939 Depression that affected most of the modern world. Some economists have conceded that there is a 35 percent chance of a global recession. Admittedly, this is debatable. However my own research reveals more cause for concern than optimism which is not to state that I am a defeatist -- quite the contrary, one has to fight this problem either before 1/1/2000 or afterwards -- there is no choice but to fix the problems.

The alarming cause for concern is because the problem is now perceived as being far nastier than ever thought, too many are behind schedule, and too much is at stake. My primary focus is ensuring that wherever one lives that they focus on communicating this problem to the prominent citizens in their locale. I place emphasis on the significant "gotchas" that will befall typically done Year 2000 efforts and why extraordinary caution is needed.
