To Christians, marriage is a sacrament. Redefining it in the law as anything but a permanent union between a man and an unrelated woman is blasphemy.

Perhaps the answer is for the government to rid itself of all references to legal marriage if it must include same sex unions and/or other types of unions. Civil unions would replace marriage as the legal term for such unions.
