AMD just said that Opteron is the only platform running Windows Azure right now.
I already suspected this, since there was a presentation at the PDC 2008 about how Azure is currently implemented: they're running quad socket, quad core systems at about 1.7 GHz, with NUMA optimisations. This already pointed heavily to Opteron, I don't think there's currently an Intel platform that fits this description. The Azure guys are very focussed on having the most cost effective hosting platform, with low power consumption.
Rumours say that Dell won the deal to provide the Azure hardware, but the guy giving the PDC presentation didn't want to confirm this (he apparently was very surprised that somebody asked this question).
