Perhaps you are right...we will see.

One of the obvious dangers of standing so firmly behind the strong executive branch environment created by republicans over the past eight years has been the fact that Bush's heirs would inherit all the arguments and theories on record from republicans supporting same. One speculation (back in the day) was that Hillary Clinton would be the most powerful President in history because she would take all the executive power arguments from the republicans, use Mr. Bush's actions for precedents, and combine it with the Clinton knack for devious, immoral action.

Mr. Obama may be less devious, but he will be just as powerful.

All those signing statements from Mr. Bush certainly create a new and interesting environment for the next President to work within...And I don't quite see how republicans will dispute him if he follows Mr. Bush's once novel approach to them.
