:o) I posted about a year ago after my second China visit, at least once, that I believed that China would surprise the world in green initiatives.. The stereotype (well demonstrated in the article) is that they just want to continue burning coal and oil and don't much care about polluting.... They have already sacrificed much of a National treasure the Three Gorges on the Yangtze for massive hydro power... They have the will.. I'm still waiting for high speed rail (even improved passenger network) in Canada.. we are going to allow larger trucks / trailers on Ontario highways soon... worsen traffic on the 401 and increase greenhouse emissions.. trucking has a strong lobby and politicians are short sighted ... One only need look at the standstill on the 401 each weekday morning to see the folly... Time will tell..
