It should be very interesting... obama has already insulted the President of Poland and the President of the United States during his first meeting with him... ___________- Memories are short. Remember the issues Mr. Bush raised with the leaders of Mexico and several other nations through what were seen as ham-handed or overly familiar (and insulting) attitudes or gestures? Then theere were the misstatements of policy and failure to properly discuss the results of their talks. The President of Mexico felt insulted (and said so) and the infamous "Merkel neck massage" resulted in a formal instruction going out from the German equivilant of the State Department about how she was to be approached and treated by other nations' representatives. I don't think even Mr. Bush's strongest supporters would consider him particularly sophisticated in diplomatic dealings.... Perhaps Obama will be even worse....<g>
