Well, I have to agree with you there. Most folks nowadays simply don't have a full appreciation for our history. So we're doomed to repeat our past mistakes. I'll tell you what's going on now, though. Bush was so obvious in his lining of the pockets of the wealthy, that the masses rose up and said, "I want some too." Now we have this evil downward spiral, where everyone is looting the Treasury. We've gone from $4 trillion to $10 trillion in national debt under Bush and we're like to reach $1 trillion a year deficits under Obama. That troubles me more than anything else we talk about here on these threads. The most frequent quote I see on these threads nowadays is the one that says, "When the people of a Democracy find out they can vote themselves a boon, then the end of that Democracy is in sight," or something to that effect. No truer words were ever spoken. We're paying the piper now folks. If you think it's bad now, just wait a few months. It's about to get a whole lot worse.
