The public really has been duped and numbed by headline/soundbite news and marketing gimmickry. Heck, I can even tell my attention span has waned over the past several years due to information throughput. There are very few people that I meet in person who can, or are willing to, carry on a conversation beyond the most recent newsclip blurb. So, if you have no internal corporate conscious, and have dumbed down the masses, why not grab the brass ring the Feds have laid at your feet...especially when the Pols are as pathetically corrupt.
