>>>Forget Red vs. Blue -- It's the Educated vs. People Easily Fooled by Propaganda<<<

An excellent post.

There is a bumper sticker which I highly endorse...."If you think education is expensive, try ignorance."

"W" tried to address this problem in the public schools with the "no child left behind" initiative. I know a bunch of teachers who think that made things worse because teachers stopped teaching and started becoming test coaches so that they could keep their jobs and/or get a raise. This is an example of what I think is bad regulation. And "W" brought it upon us.

Milton Friedman was a big proponent of school vouchers. Hey!!!! If my kid isn't learning what he needs to in your lousy school, I have the economic freedom through the voucher to take him/her to a more effective venue. Certain Big Brother types in government don't like that sort of free market capability on parents. It takes power away from the control freaks and puts it where it belongs.
