The economy was the key to this vote.............but I know lots of Catholics who didn't vote for Obama and do not like the guy.

Statistics can be miss-leading also. Catholic numbers have grown in the Hispanic community over the last few years and hispanics voted for Obama....................so take your choice which group you want to use an an indicator for the sake of spin.

I am on the Board of Directors for a local Catholic charitable organization so I know a fair number of practicing Catholics.

There is also a difference between those that call themselves Catholic and those that are practicing the religion. Taking an exit poll outside a voting booth is hardly good science. Take a poll outside a church and you'll see a different result.

I just noticed the writers of the piece you posted and they are biased Democrats.

I think they forgot to remark that Democrats are ridden by guilt complexes and some voted for Obama because they feel guilty about the treatment of blacks by their ancestors.

And you also need to remember that Catholic Bishops lost much of their power over constituents due to the recent abuse scandals.

There are many dynamics to religion and politics that can't be discussed in this forum. The church is changing , not by choice, but by necessity.
