Mike,

<< DRAM prices generally go down. But the boys in
Boise don't fully appreciate this fact. >>

Do you really believe MU does not understand this and yet everyone on this thread does...no.. I mean everyone on this web does understand this. Your comments, although good and informative are an over-simplification of the way commodity markets work. I believe the statements you quoted by MU are to some degree taken out of context. Remember DRAM was coming off a sharp decline in the spring and MU was expecting some bounce back. There was some bounce but probably not what they were planning for.

Larry is just making the observation that the DRAM market is difficult to project right now with the Asian market giving away their lunch. Their game is to increase their market share and keep their FAB pumping product and their people employed(This is obviously not capitalism). They are in deep s... and it is certainly spilling over to US. But eventually it will work its way out and their future efforts by them will be given a second or third look before they try this nonsense again. Already some companies are backing out of DRAM, US and Asian.

That is why our dumping laws are there to protect our US companies and prevent total dependency on foreign entities that try to control the market.
