No registration necessary with restoring an image. What it is is an exact bit for bit copy of your partition he was it was when you took the image. Everything is restored exactly the way it was. The only problem is making sure you have a recent image or any programs you install since the last image was made will be wiped out. You can make full backups as well as incremental. I don't bother with the incrementals since I can start the program and go watch a few minutes of television and come back in a few minutes. I verify the image and I'm done. I have a partition on a second hard drive which is dedicated to nothing but images. To restore, I start the program, tell it that I am restoring an image and it reboots and restores the image without further human intervention. I would not think about not having it. Bets computer $50 investment I've ever made. Has saved me lots of time starting over with a new os install, service packs, installing programs, setting up preferences in all of them, etc. It now has a Try and Decide module which will let you install something new and keep it for a few days and then change everything back if you decide you don't want it. I may try that next time I install something.
