well at this point I doubt they let detroit fail. But in 3 mos they will be back for more money because their model doesn't work- what do we do then? Chapter 11 is a better option. Detroit has lobbied against fuel efficiency standards for 30 years. Incredible that no improvements in CAFE standards have even been attempted in 30 years! Detroit is the reason we spend 800 billion every year in offshore, middle east oil. If we let them go down its a win win. We keep that 800 billion here in the USA... even if it means we all buy Toyotas, we are better off.
