Years ago a company where I had worked for over ten years went broke. No one offered to bail them out to save my job.

These things happen, and they always seem to happen for the same reason: incompetent management. How many people lost their jobs when Enron failed? How many lifelong construction workers have lost their jobs this year because of the lending practices of banks? How many people lost their jobs when the dot com bubble imploded?

And, the bottom line, how many auto workers have lost their jobs over the past several decades because auto companies moved their operations off shore?

If you didn't give a rip about the millions of American workers above, why are you weeping alligator tears now? The only time executives of these companies care about saving jobs is when it's their own jobs that are on the line.
