I think he's an idiot savant primitive

no need to apologize. :) I think he is a decent man but he might well be all that other, as well. and I think he's plain wrong to just shut down all course of action re the car companies. we had that discussion at the house tonight... the southern model for worker pay and benefits is not something other parts of the country should immulate. That our factory workers make a whopping $14 an hour is nothing to brag on... people got cheaper clothes from here for a long time because they could pay minimum wage and no medical. then that was too much compared to sweat shops and the jobs were gone. Unionized workers might have some things on the healthcare to rework, on 30 and out at full pension... there is working room (and all the better if healthcare is relieved from the picture, aye?)... but halfing their pay so even 2 full-time workers would still struggle to raise a family, much less send children to college, isn't the way to go. the plants we have here have been a boon... $14 an hour with some benefits is like stepping into the promisedland here. but think how sad that is, really.

When I saw a TN guy on tv (an idiot but no way a savant, just an idjut) bragging about the low pay and less benefits here, it sealed it for me.

Look at the poverty down here... the crumbling schools filled with children who can't hardly read, and would think the phrase I just wrote is proper written english and... anyone in congress not looking to honest ways to maybe renegotiate certain elements of the union contract, but actually as a way to break the last of the strong unions and lower workers without a white collar to a matching status with an Alabama bumpkin should be aahamed of themselves. but I won't hold my breath expecting such a feeling to creep into their bought and paid rotted hearts.
