Great story, and I'm glad you lived thru it. :) getting out and seeing some of the world and meeting people with different opener views can change people in small ways that grow that you don't notice at the time. no telling... some of those boys might have grown up to be closet liberals after knowing you.

And I'm glad that someone knows the Chevy-Ford tension is quite real. Mostly in good fun, of course, but people are dead serious about their truck loyalties.

My 2nd vehicle (after the '65 vw bug burned up 2 months after I got it) was a '72 faded-red datsun pickup named LeRoy. I've never quite gotten over LeRoy.

Now I'm a Ford Ranger person. It's about as good as you can do in gas mileage in a small pickup anymore, or was when we got it.
