As long as we are talking about 8x8 and CFON, I'll give everyone an update.

I follow videoconferencing as a tech strategist. I've seen both the ViaTV (8x8) and C-Home (CFON) products. My opinion is that they are both high enough quality to be quite successful with social videocallers (friends, grandparents, etc). This is a huge potential market.

I was very encouraged to see that Joe Parkinson and 8x8 have closed a first deal with a telephone company. This is the best short-term marketing channel for H.324 (video over phone line) products.

The reality is that the cost of goods for H.324 video phones makes it necessary to price them north or south of $500 per unit. It would be great to get the price lower. Phone companies have the capital to lease or resell videophone units at a less daunting cost. Yesterday's 8x8 announcement said that the units would be $30 per month on a two year lease. I believe that there will be more phone company deals for both 8x8 and CFON

In spite of the very spirited competition between Parkinson of 8x8 and Dan Flohr of CFON, I believe in H.324 units and that the market is more than big enough for both to be successful. I like both stocks as what I call 'intelligent speculations'.
