we lost over 3 million jobs in the tiny locale of Silicon Valley in 2001. That was just in SV. Not including all the related job losses from wall street with no IPOs or IT workers all over the country or people that worked for these companies in other states.

We have lost well over 3 million jobs in the housing bust.

I actually support some sort of bailout for the big 3 but the complete lack of perspective here boggles the mind, and does not help their case. First they seem impervious to the fact that they have pissed off California for the past 15 years at least, and those people are now running congress. Next they think US autos are driving the US economy still and they aren't.... next they think the country has sympathy for NO COPAY HEALTHCARE that UAW workers get.... its really an amazing lapse.

Wake up call time........... for Detroit
