Hi Max, After more than ten years on SI, I'm less convinced now than I ever was that we can really know each other based on our written words here. I opened this thread years ago as a place for talking among liberals, and it'll remain this way. If you you don't self-identify as liberal, I accept that. If you don't agree with the (very few) people who post here I accept that too. I'll never ban you from here. Come and go as you wish. In terms of your view of my beliefs, I accept that too. I do want love. I don't think we're safe. I want to be good, but it's often a moment-by-moment struggle. I've been known to rattle a few cages from time to time. I love the idea of hope and change-- I am watching our President-elect closely and hoping for the best. I follow sometimes. I lead sometimes too. I'm too old to be a New American; I work hard, feel the strain of the economic situation we're moving into, do the very little I can to help my family and community. You might be surprised by my thoughts about Israel...but I'm not going to post them here. Max, I wish you good things.
