Did the switch from usd to loonies, much more than last month, got 1.28 per ... might be a little early, but not too far off bottom imho, and should pay off nicely by mid-winter

ml.to - i didn't get much, still looking at it ... wondering if it'll go for two bits or better at some point, it's all new territory now, no way to tell ... from everything i've read so far, i can't see them going teaters any time soon so first clear signs of a bottom in copper will have effect

Banks don't often have ten per cent days, and usually only after ramping much more than that ... one tankola was real good to me, on 5dec96 a real estate deal had finally closed after months of conditions and stupid details, i just made it to the bank before close and put the entire amount into a stock account ... the year before i'd met a mainstream financials analyst, he had been preaching canadian banks and a couple of others, one insurance company that did quite well on a takeout, anyway i was enthused and that night put in orders for near all this cash through MicroMax, ancient system TDW had then ... all orders were below market by at least three or four per cent, a couple well below that, being conservative ... on the open they were all filled below order prices, na.to and lb.to filled near ten per cent below my bids, wild and crazy, a bit unnerving for a few hours actually even though they recovered from there ... it turned out that about the time i was at the bank, Greenspan was giving his 'irrational exhuberance' speech, spooked the markets and saved me quite a few loonies, which made for great gains by Christmas ... overall banks position turned out a double or better within a year and a half or so, but that morning itself is the memorable part
