It's easier to see in exponents...the exponential is the number of zeros after the one, for example: 1E6 = 1,000,000 1 MILLION 1E9 = 1,000,000,000 1 BILLION 1E12 =1,000,000,000 1 TRILLION Your calculations are correct... 1000 x 1000 is 1E3 X 1E3 = 1E6 (the exponents add) 1000E6 = 1E9 OR 1 BILLION 1000E9 = 1E12 OR 1 TRILLION
