BTW I think I figured out how your water heater works. One of my friends has one too. I forgot to ask him.....are your water bills/electric bills higher now that you have this particular tank? If my theory is correct, it takes a lot of energy to keep the coils hot.

No the energy bills are lower; probably saves 40%. The 'coils' (or whatever they are) only come on when you need hot water. So instead of warming 50 gallons 24/7 you only heat as many gallons as you need when you need them.


Those coils have to heat up very quickly to a very high temp to keep the water warm as it passes through them.
