Whether you buy the abiogenic theory or the dinosaur-juice one, doesn't matter, it's not getting replenished as fast as we're burning it up ... remember a while ago, i calculated the size of cube it would take to hold what the species burns every day, it was 750 feet on a side or thereabouts

In 1995 a young couple we know were buying a house, they had quite a bit for the down payment and she was for putting it all down, he on the other hand was interested in looking for higher returns than mortgage interest, i was on about resource stocks, also starting in on the banks then ... but when he asked what was the top pick if i had to stash something away for many years, i said right away Suncor, which was on the mind because the Rick George fellow had just come in and turned around their stations [big money in pop and chips, better than fuel and that's what got Suncor back up and running] ... i'd just had near a double in it, quite enthused ... well anyway this spring he reminded me of this, probably right at the peak, 140s or something, he says hey great pick that was, we shoulda done that [it's had four splits since then, one 20 dollar share then is 16 shs at 19 today] ... but i had to tell him, i didn't hold it long enough myself, traded in and out and made good money on that but was out for too much of the gains

Thinking tonight of smartening up on that [oh great, another resolution to break at the first moment it seems inconvenient] - stockcharts.com
