That is 13.552 cubic metres per day. 781 feet on a side. Production of huile a moteur.
We are dangerously close to peak oil. What is on the downside of the curve is total world economic collapse. What may save us is if we collapse from other causes first.
Vz is a battleground to be sure. Russia muscling in for offshore stuff. There could be a super giant field out there, and also offshore india, which is politically and commercially too confused and weak to take advantage of it. Only one oil company in India has resources to exploit this. There is a super giant field of heavy oil in AB that I know about which is not yet exploited. Too bad it is so difficult in this country to raise capital for ideas like that.. no money in North American hands except at the floozy level on disvesting bay and howe streets.
I agree there are a lot of buys out there for our old age. The question is how long do we wait to buy at the bottom, and given that we do, how long do we wait until we sell again? And of course what do we buy it with, as most cash will be gone by then. Most people think we need to wait until the market resettles at some stable point.. the point at which most non market players, i.e. the small washed herd knows it is good to get into a few things. By the time you get mr. and mrs. average unbeliever to jump, the market is at its teetering pinnacle and has no where to go but down. As a matter of fact unless you are a big money maven with a promo machine behind you, most street mavens won't buy in at any point. It's all a paper hanging scam functionally for even the well dressed ladies on this street. Sure some are looking for mines, and so is my aunt bessie. If she only knew exactly how.
My point is this. The business of mining and the business of mining promotion are only incidentally related. These two necessary weevils come together in the same cotton patch, but they are really a different branch of the phylogeneric scale.
There is money in mining if you know how and you have the right elements. The only one that would make money for sure right now is what most CDN's don't do well. Gold. Been telling people that for nigh on 10 years or more. Most small miners don't have a chance in anything else. Moly was a good idea for a while. Now 9 to 10 dollars. Hangs on the coatails of the steel bangers, and we know they are trying like hell to get steel into China and nobody buy steel. nobody pay them. since the chin guv buy all steel in the end, somebody died at the throttle, perhaps to drink sake and savour the situation as the metal prices fall. somebody should wake him up..
Not that good anymore. I try to tell people, there are only so many money makers out there for smallcos to do. Oxide heap leach, real small, don't need 20 million tons or dollars. Maybe 100K ounces will do. Placer. Small high grade gold mining. Like one ounce per ton. Like 100 tons per day. Like Mill Stream sold to morons and probably wishes now they hadn't. Iffen too many experts don't spoil it. Try to do it too fine and high scale and it will fail. Anything in BC since they cleaned out mining is suspect it will never get in business. Don't know how many drillers I have looked at there that wont' go as the regs defeat you. The other thing that defeats you is most explo companies don't employ a single man who has ever mined a ton of rock with his own hands, let alone engineered one. They can't ponderate the problems of production. If you talk to them they will say, we aren't going to mine it, we are going to sell it. Unrealistic in most venues. A sellable gold mine in Canada I have rarely run into. People I know did one. Golden Eagle. I did not hear much discuss of it on this thread. 12 million ounces. Even Detour won't sell. So what sells? About 3 million ounces of oxide gold.. open pit.. 4 million ounces of underground bulk gold. everybody else might as well go home. Sure a Lac, Patino, Northgate might be able to get a million ouncer going in house, but chances are slim. Young Davidson still hanging fire. Even Guyana Goldfields-- what is that all about..? should have been a mine 3 years ago. Nothing stopping a starter pit.. but I guess he figured he would sell it. all 6.5 million ounces. but nobody is buying of him.. well that is complex to get into..
So how was your day?
Let me know if mining ever restarts in BC. You can forget base metals for 2 years, no matter what Friedland says. So the leaves gold, maybe silver and maybe gold again. But what gold and what silver. Has to be realistic.. well let me think about that one for a year...
