Palin HATES any animal lovers, vegans, vegetarians and liberals (i.e. anyone her narrow suppressed hateful brain sees as being "freaks"). So, as a sick joke she got the news station to set up the camera with her posing in front of where they were slaughtering the turkeys. She knew this would offend the "freaks" and generate some controversy and press for her (all press is good - bad or otherwise to her). Another thing it would do is take the focus off from her babble. But, Palin is done for.
