Ok, cool. So after I deduct the full 70k on my 79k Escalade in year 1, how exactly do I avoid the gain realized (and taxable!!) when I sell it in year 2 for 45k?

Basis = Zero after depreciation for simplicity purposes. Gain equals selling price less Basis. The excess depreciation is recaptured and taxed.
