People keep throwing the notional value around. The only thing that's certain is that number overestimates the amount of deficit to be covered by a factor of 10 or more. Not every derivative was a bad bet, obviously.......

The main point is, however slosh money is needed is the amount that will be applied. With the predictable effect on inflation of stuff that isn't printed or closely linked to things that are.

Got commodities? I think oil will be at 200/bbl before 2011. And gold over 2500 in the same time frame (and NGD over 100/share).
