Of course not. But I think labor should earn market rates, not rates that are the product of extortion and strongarm tactics, which is what the UAW amounts to.

Why should unskilled laborers in Detroit be paid more than Walmart employees or McDonalds employees who aren't unionized?

The answer is that they shouldn't. The UAW membership is grossly overpaid for what they do and as a result their employers are broke. It is fairly simple. These people aren't professionals. They're not CEOs. They''re not entertainers. Their skills are NOT WORTH anywhere near what they're being paid.

I would point out, also, that their arrogance in making insane demands is costing OTHER PEOPLE, nonunionized employees, their jobs. For example, car salesmen and other dealership employees. It is pathetic. And the unions need to brought down, stammped out, destroyed, as part of this process.
