The simple, plain truth is that nonunionized automakers are doing better than the unionized ones, but the unionized ones are those who are in the worst shape (the big 3) because of the high cost of union labor. If the others were facing labor costs of double or triple what they are, they'd be facing the same problems.

Read the history of GM....it wasn't doing well long before the unions were a problem. In fact, the unions became a problem only when GM starting losing profitability. American loyalty to the GM brand was the only thing that kept GM going for a long time. Ironically and in spite of that loyalty, GM designed and built cars to fall apart after a certain of time.....in other words, openly screwing their customers. When the Japanese improved the quality of their products, mnot surprisingly Americans began to migrate to those brands in large numbers.

Let's face it......GOPers are not good at business......and they tend to be dishonest to boot.
