No one will study it, but oil reduces hunger. No doubt of it. I take a tablespoon of Canola to cut hunger between meals. OTOH, Carbs increase hunger. Eat a wheat product between meals, and you are hungrier.

Here's an example of the problem with the "Low Fat" approach. Use Miracle Whip instead of Mayo, right?

I make Mayo in the Cruisinart with two egg yolks, a third of a cup of Canola oil, vinegar and seasonings. Here are the Miracle Whip ingredients:

Water, soybean oil, vinegar, high fructose corn syrup, sugar, modified food starch, eggs, salt, mustard flour, artificial color, potassium sorbate as a preservative, paprika, spice, natural flavor, dried garlic.
