Gold Beach: Where ever your conviction leads you to believe in the direction of the market that is the direction to take. There are pros and cons for each set, and whatever you decide, I would buy the underlying ETF and then sell calls against them to protect you from the violent market swings. With Vix where it is you can expect a 5% daily swing in the indices so why remain so exposed.. smooth it out with covered calls... the premium is fantastic.
