It sounds like the dog is completely unsocialized. The least the guy could do is keep it on a shorter lead and muzzle it. But no.........he's on a "look at my mean breeded dog.....isn't he intimidating" power trip. Did the guy look like he was in his early 20s? That has got to be the most dangerous and most clueless age for humans. It's really a good thing you were there. That poor Dane would probably have been killed if you hadn't been.

I DO remember you saying no more pets. But Oral.........I made the mistake of not getting another dog after my Fred (1/2 Great Dane 1/2 Rhodesian Ridgeback) died. I waited 22 yrs then I got Neeka. Having an animal around is just so nice. I now know that replacing a beloved pet is a very good thing, so I'm glad you got another kitty.

Besides, the kitty (what's its name) probably keeps your wife company, and pets are especially comforting after surgery or during illness.
