I have definitely written my Congressman and Senators insisting that any bailout be accompanied by a significant diminution of union power. There are various ways in which it might happen, but if they can't get significant, permanent voluntary concessions from the unions, they ought to legislate severe reductions in power.

I wonder whether it isn't time for collective bargaining to come to an end altogether. It is clearly just a destructive provision at this point.
