Yeah the anecdotal stuff is worse than the national numbers (but I may be prejudiced because FL is doing worse than average). My auto dealer general manager golf buddy is getting killed, off 60% YOY, and done with his second round of layoffs. He said their Chrysler shop sold a total of six cars last month. No way to cover the fixed cost.

Consumers have gone into a shell... rightly so.

One of the things GM will have to do under a bailout is buy and close out dealerships......which is a costly move. However, by the time they get around to doing it, most of the dealerships may already be closed. In the last six months, the rate of closure has increased significantly nationwide.
