I hope everyone has the word that packages and cards from individuals that are not addressed to a specific soldier will not be accepted and delivered at Walter Reed or any other Military Medical Center.

I have been informed that the Red CRoss is making/has made arrangements to accept and deliver these things to our servicemen and women.
I should have details in a day or two. Please participate.

Today I received the name and address of a very seriously wounded SF soldier. He got hit in Afghanistan.

I know 3 things about him:

1. When he got to a medical facility, and as they tried to stop the bleeding, he needed and received 20 pints of blood.
2. His dad is retired SF.
3. One of his "A" Team buddies requested some mail be sent to him.

A friend of mine's SF son was also medivaced out of Afghan about 2-3 weeks ago. He was critical but now is expected to live.
I knew this lad's grandfather in SF in the 60s. And of course his dad was SF too and is a friend of mine.

Please consider participating in this program.
I was medivaced out of Vietnam in 1969. Spent 3 1/2 months in the hospital at Camp Zama Japan. Received 2 or 3 cards from total strangers and cannot ever explain how important that was to me then and now.
