My guess is that the government will take over the old auto pensions. If the industry can reorganize with a sound business model and one with modern 401K retirement plans, they should be able to turn things around, but the UAW is going to have to give and give a lot.

BTW, I saw on TV that the combined salary for the top 37 Toyota executives is 35 million dollars. One thing many American CEOs need to realize is that they don't own the companies they work for, the stockholders do.
