Westerm Canadian Coal gets environmental permit Mon Nov 24, 2008 6:34pm EST reuters.com VANCOUVER, British Columbia, Nov 24 (Reuters) - British Columbia has granted Western Canadian Coal Corp (WTN.TO: Quote, Profile, Research, Stock Buzz) an environmental permit for its Hermann coal mine project, the province said on Monday. The C$55 million ($45 million) open-pit project in northwestern British Columbia is expected to produce up to 1.1 million tonnes of metallurgical coal annually over 10 years, with the coal shipped via the company's nearby Wolverine mine.
