Yeah, you are right. After MSFT use their power of monopoly on the
Windows OS to force the PC makers to bundle their IE4, and eventually
kills all other browsers. And then, you can say why the market don't
have any other browsers, well the answer is simple: "there is no
demand for such thing". And the same story goes on and on. And then
one day, MSFT control most of the PC software market, and you will be
forced accept whatever junks they made for whatever price they want.
That is the bad thing of monopoly. Do you think the IE4 will ever
exist if there is no Netscape. You see the beauty of competition, and
we all benefit from it.

What we need is a fair competition and choice of our own, not the one
use their power to force you the accept their stuff. If MSFT think
the IE4 is a good product, why don't MSFT let it compete with the
others in a fair basis.
